Greater Toronto Airport Authority Fire and Emergency Services is responsible for fire and emergency services at
Lester B. Pearson International Airport .tation
There are two fire halls located at the airport, one to the north end of the airport and other to the south side of the airport. A state of the art training facility (FESTI- Fire and Emergency Services Training Institute) housing two major ARFF training mock-ups, confined space, burn house, smoke tower, flammable liquids training pit and LEEDS awarded Training facility. FESTI offers courses on ARFF, Structural firefighting, Haz-mat, Confined Space, Medical First Responder, Incident Command, CPR, Defib, Fire Extinguisher Training, and Annual Vehicle Pump testing. FESTI is located on Courtney Park Dr. east of Dixie Rd. The Department is divided into 3 divisions, Suppression, Training and Prevention. The Suppression Division is comprised of 4 Platoons/Shifts that include 1 Platoon Chief, 2 Captains and 14 Firefighters.(Total of 17 staff per Platoon)The Fire Training Division (FESTI) includes 1 Chief Training Officer, 9 Training Officers and 1 Training Support Technician. The Fire Prevention Division includes 1 Chief Prevention Officer and 4 Fire Prevention Officers. The Unionized staff are represented by Pearson Airport Professional Fire Fighters Association (PAPFFA) Local 4382 of the International Association of Fire Fighters
