Rutanya Alda (born October 13, 1942) is an American actress.

Biography

Personal life

Alda was born Ruta Skrastiņa in Riga, Latvia, the daughter of Vera (née Ozoliņš), a businesswoman, and Jānis Skrastiņš, a poet. Career

Alda may be best known for her roles in "The Deer Hunter" as Steven's wife, Angela, as well as for "Mommie Dearest" and "" - being nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award two years in succession (1981 and 1982) for the latter roles. She also appeared on numerous TV programs, such as Cold Case, Crime Scene Investigation and on the TV series "Beauty and the Beast", which starred Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton.
