Paliouri (Greek, Modern: Παλιούρι, Katharevousa: -on), older forms: Paliourio and Paliourion is a touristic village located in the southeast of the peninsula of
Cassandreia andChalkidiki (also a prefecture) inGreece . The population in 2001 was 361 for the village and 449 for the municipal district, the elevation is 10 m. Nea Skioni is located around 110 km SE ofThessaloniki . Forests dominate the area around Agia Paraskevi.ubdivisions

Geography
Paliouri are surrounded by mountains inland while farmlands covers the areas as well as the valley areas. The cape named
Kanastraio or Kanastreo is located to the east. It is one of the southernmost village on the Chalkidiki peninsula but not Macedonia,Central Macedonia (otherwise the southernmost is in theGrevena prefecture ).Information
The most famous that is not just its natural beauty is that tourism dominates the industry ans has a beach, hotels, spas, restaurants, taverns, etc. The most infamous was that on
August 26 ,2006 , a forest fire ravaged Paliouri and devastated much of the forests and buildings in the outskirts of the area. Several houses and villas were burnt. Hydro was snapped out and roads were closed. All residents were to be evacuated as well as tourists who were to leave the area.Paliouri was linked with pavement in the mid-20th century and generated a growth on tourism, hydro and phone lines soon followed as well as more paved roads in the 1980s.
