EDGES with Mal Fletcher

"EDGES with Mal Fletcher" is a magazine-documentary TV series originating from London, looking at social issues and future research from a conservative or evangelical Christian worldview perspective [ [http://www.religioustolerance.org/int_rel19.htm Links to conservative Protestant web sites ] ] . Presented by broadcaster and author Mal Fletcher, each 30 minute film covers such issues as terrorism, euthanasia, pornography, genetics, robotics and alternative fuels. The series is produced by Next Wave International.

In 2006, according to the then head of the BBC's Religion and Ethics department, the programs were of high production quality but would never by easy to place on mainstream TV because they're "not pure documentary, nor pure religion, but a mix of both". The producers argue that they're trying to redress a balance in terms of worldviews presented in mainstream media.

EDGES has aired on the Nine Network and Seven Network in Australia and SABC 1 in South Africa. When the series began, the show was produced in Copenhagen, with the support of the Danish government's public service broadcasting remit. Today it is made in four nations, with the base of production in London. It is funded through donations, though no requests for funding are made in the programs.
