- The Thirteenth Guest
The Thirteenth Guest were a four piece Jazz/Rock/Fusion band from
Glasgow formed 1979 and disbanded in 1981 when the members all went their respective ways.The band played a selection of pieces by the
Mahavishnu Orchestra ,Return to Forever , John McLaughlin andChick Corea . They also played a number of original compositions written by Bassist Robert Kirk and Keyboard Player Kevin Fitzsimmons. The band built up a sizeable following in and around the Glasgow area and were well respected for their excellent musicianship. There was only ever one recording made by the band and their final gig was played in Cumbernauld Theatre to a sell-out audience.Band Members:

Chou Pahrot under the pseudonym 'The Amphibian'. Chou Pahrot had a cult following in Scotland at that time and recorded one live album and one studio EP.After the break up of The Thirteenth Guest, Kevin Fitzsimmons and John O'Neill went on to work in London theatre and played on many of the biggest shows of that period including:
"Jesus Christ Superstar ", "Evita", "Cats", "Chess", "Song and Dance ", "Some like it hot ", "Me and My Girl ", "Blue Angel", "The Lion King " and many others. They also worked on the Theatre production of Alice, a musical written by one of the founding members of Genesis,Anthony Phillips . This was performed at Leeds Playhouse.Martin went on to study flamenco guitar in Seville where he met Maria Mendossa singer of famous Spanish duo and later composed and produced a relatively successful album which earned him the respect of French publisher Pierre Laurin who teamed him up with Duran producer Colin Thurston.His acoustic/fusion alternative album under the name of CLIFTON HILL is now just about ready to be released with titles like "DINKY SOLEIL" a song about late French photographer "HENRI LARTIGUE" and "FLOWER IN THE SHADE" about his beloved brother "GERARD COLGAN" who died in 2004.DEFAULTSORT:Thirteenth Guest, The
