OTA private University of applied sciences Berlin

The OTA Private University of Applied Sciences Berlin is a state-approved private university in free sponsorship. OTA Hochschule GmbH is the financial supporter. The Private University of Applied Sciences commenced its work in 2002. The introduction of English-speaking academic programmes at Bachelor and Master level began in 2006. It offers two three-year Bachelor programmes. Students graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). Starting in the winter semester 2006/2007, OTA University of Applied Sciences will offer a two-year Master's programme in the English language. Students graduate with a Master of Arts (M.A.).

The basic educational goal of OTA University is to achieve a new balance between a sound and clearly identified organizational framework, intended to assure quality, and educational freedom through which students are offered the opportunity to improve their creativity and freedom and define their own educational profiles. Virtual environments (the Internet, web-based education platforms) at OTA University are closely interconnected with the University’s educational organization, but the principles of regular attendance and face-to-face education constitute the core value of the University.Practice is attached high importance at OTA University. At OTA University, theoretical and practical education is provided symmetrically to achieve productivity in accordance with Leibniz’ study method (Theoria cum Praxi). At this initial level of the education where the professional qualities are formed, students are provided with basic scientific information, the principles of non-formal education, which continue lifelong, as well as a habit of expertise in self improvement.

Bachelor of Arts Programme

Economics / Business Administration

Courses in marketing, management, business planning, finance, financial controlling, accounting, human resources and organization, soft skills.

Information and Communication Management Studies

Learning how to use economic data to manage communication within and between businesses. Developing the skills required to employ various media in communication processes.

Master of Arts Programme

International Risk and Contract Management / International Management

The programme responds to the constantly growing requirement of companies for employees in contract, project and risk management to operate across borders, who have a command of the standard practice, terms and conditions of international business transactions.
