1979 - 1990 the race was known as the ‘Autumn Stakes’
1991 the race was known as the ‘Tattersalls Stakes’
1992 - 2001 the race reverted back to the ‘Autumn Stakes’
2002 the race was known as the ‘Australia Day Vase’
2003 - 2004 the race reverted back to the ‘Autumn Stakes’
2005 onwards the race has known as the ‘Wellington R C Stakes’
