Rachel Trezise

Rachel Trezise, born 1978 in Cwmparc, Rhondda is a Welsh author.

Background and career

Trezise studied at the University of Glamorgan and University of Limerick in Ireland. Her first novel, "In and Out of the Goldfish Bowl", released in 2002 while she was still as a student, received broad critical acclaim. "Harpers & Queen" named Trezise as the 'new face of literature' in 2003. ] In October 2006, Trezise won the inaugural Dylan Thomas Prize (for writers under 30), the world's richest literary prize, [cite web

] for her book of short stories, "Fresh Apples", describing life in the mining valleys in South Wales. In 2007, Parthian Books published "Dial M For Merthyr", Trezise's account of her time spent on tour with Welsh rock band Midasuno.
