Mattaur — town — Coordinates Country India State Punjab Time zone IST (UTC+05:30) Mattaur, also known as Kamagata Maru Naga, is a village in Mohali, India between the 70 and 71 sectors of Mohali.
Buffalo are available in Mattaur, and as a result the town is called Milky Village or Dairy Village
History
TKamagata Maru Nagar hosted the All-India Congress session in 1975. Among other Congress stalwarts, Mrs Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister, had attended the session. Mrs Gandhi had announced conversion of this historical village into a model gram. BUT TILL DATE IT NOT MADE
The other major thing about mattaur is that it is one of the major villages of deadly "BAIDWAN" Jatt caste. BAIDWAN are known for their quarrelsome nature and deadly fighting.
In old days BAIDWAN's use to send so called "Bhelli" made from gur to their enemy as a invitation to fight .
Infrastructure
Mattaur has a fairly good sewage system, and it does not display water or electricity problems, but the village needs to improve its infrastructure.[1] Garbage dumps are not well maintained. Roads are not well maintained. The town does not have a reliable supply of potable water.
The village has one government school for its residents, which has three rooms. Teachers hold classes outside, as there is no space in the school. Many town residents send their children to private schools.
“Our long-pending demand to raise the boundary wall remains to be seen to date. We have been going the whole hog to convince the PUDA authorities to erect the wall but to no avail. Scores of our meetings with PUDA bigwigs have yielded no tangible outcome. We feel cheated,” says Mr Amrik Singh, a former sarpanch The village has and public park.
today Mattaur is most deveploped village. Its location is very much uttmost. Mattaur has got beautiful buildings and park .Ivy hospital , Saint Xavier school , police station are just at door step
