Radica Games Limited is a company that produces electronic games. On October 3, 2006, Mattel, Inc. (NYSE:MAT) announced the acquisition completion of Radica. Radica was originally founded in 1983. It began by producing electronic
souvenir games forcasino s. In the late 1990s, it became famous for its "Bass Fishin" line of games. While Radica still produces many electronic handheld games based on casino or card games, it has also branched out into other types of toys, board games, andvideo game accessories.In 1999, Radica games employed the services of famous designer Allen Michalik. Allen went on to design such hits as Skannerz and Metronix. Metronix, never made it to market which later proved to be a major mistake by the company.
Their "Arcade Legends" brand re-releases classic games from
Sega and popular vintage franchises like "Space Invaders " and "Tetris " on small, handheld controllers.Radica marketed a line of games for a while called Play TV. Featuring such hits as PlayTV Football,Skateboarding, and Baseball.
Radica is also the creator of the game
Skannerz .Radica also produces the electronic toy version of
20Q . They produceCube World , an elctronic game featuring stick people as characters.Their newest product is
