Jay Cronley (b. 1943, in
Lincoln, Nebraska ) is a columnist for the "Tulsa World " and the author of many works of humorous fiction, including "Fall Guy", "Good Vibes", "Quick Change", and "Funny Farm". Most of Cronley's work is out of print. Cronley became a member of the Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame in 2002. The 1985 version, re-titled "Hold-Up", was directed by Alexandre Arcady and was set in Montreal. The 1990 version starredBill Murray ,Geena Davis ,Jason Robards , andPhilip Bosco , and was directed by Murray andHoward Franklin ; like the novel, it was set in New York City.George Roy Hill directedChevy Chase ,Madolyn Smith Osborne , Alice Drummond, andMike Starr in the 1988 adaptation of "Funny Farm".
