Gold 1948 London Shot put Wilbur Marvin "Moose" Thompson (born April 6, 1921)[1] was an American athlete who competed mainly in the shot put. He was born in Frankfort, South Dakota.
Thompson attended the University of Southern California.[2] He competed for the United States in the 1948 Summer Olympics held in London, Great Britain in the shot put where he won the Gold medal.
