Greg Frey (born January 29, 1968 in
Cincinnati, Ohio ) is a formerAmerican football player, starting atquarterback for three years with the Ohio State Buckeyes. He is currently ahigh school football assistant coach. He is graduate of St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati Ohio, where he was a stand out quarterback.Frey is best remembered for leading the Buckeyes in two remarkable come-from-behind wins. On
September 24 ,1988 , he rallied Ohio State from a 33-20 deficit in the final four minutes for a 36-33 victory over the ninth-rankedLSU Tigers . OnOctober 28 ,1989 , the Buckeyes were losing 31-0 to theMinnesota Golden Gophers . Frey brought the team back for a 41-37 win. He threw for 362 yards the latter game. Most notably, he spent a short, three-year stint as theoffensive coordinator forPickerington High School North , engineering an offense that pushed the team closer to the postseason than any other team in Pickerington history.Frey presently private coaches high school quarterbacks.
