Its length is up to 75 cm.The hooded carpetshark is a little-known inshore bottom shark, probably found on coral reefs. It has a very long
caudal peduncle andcaudal fin with a pronounced subterminal notch but without a lower lobe. The head and snout have an abrupt black hood, and the body and fins have conspicuous large white spots, blotches and bands. There is an epaulette spot partially merged with a shoulder saddle, not completely surrounded by a white ring.The hooded carpetshark is
nocturnal , hiding incoral reef crevices by day.Reproduction is
