In a
rapping style, Garfield narrates a story that begins when he is napping one day only to be awoken by Odie. Odie continues to bother him, and Garfield initially plans to punish him but then he decides to dig out Odie’s favoritebone . He then throws the bone out the front door; Odie chases after it and Garfield then locks him out of the house. Odie returns to the door with the bone in his mouth, and after pawing at the door does no good, he wanders off into the city.
He ends up wandering into analley where he finds a tough dog named Butch surrounded by two female dogs. Odie tries to make friends with them, but they quickly spurn him and then Butch takes his bone. Odie demands for the bone back; Butch’s response is to literally kick him out of the alley. The female dogs initially laugh at him, but then one of them tells Butch that he had been too rough on Odie. Then Odie returns to get his bone once more; this time Butch literally throws him out. The other female dog then agrees that Butch is being too rough. When it becomes obvious that Butch doesn’t intend to stop picking on Odie, the females leave him and walk off with Odie, leaving Butch behind with the bone.
The dogs walk Odie home, and Garfield watches out the window as they play on the frontlawn . As Butch sadly meanders away in the distance, Garfield closes the rap and then tries to pull thecurtain down—but he instead gets himself stuck in the rolled-up curtain.Notes
