Russia . It is located in the western portion of the Republic and borders with the territory of the city ofKrasnodar ofKrasnodar Krai ,Krasnodar Reservoir , and Krasnogvardeysky District in the north,Belorechensky District of Krasnodar Krai in the east and south-east, territory of the town ofGoryachy Klyuch of Krasnodar Krai in the south, andTakhtamukaysky District in the west. The area of the district is 698.79 km²"Charter of the Municipal Formation of "Teuchezhsky District" adopted onJuly 17 ,2002 , as amended by the Resolution of the Council of People's Deputies "On New Edition of the Charter of the Municipal Formation of "Teuchezhsky District" #171 ofJune 16 ,2005 ] . Its administrative center is the village ("aul ") ofPonezhukay . District's population: 19,951 (2002 Census); 21,929 (1989 Census). Population of Ponezhukay accounts for 16.9% of the district's population.The district was established on
August 5 ,1924 . The aul of Ponezhukay served as its administrative center until 1963. In 1963–2000, the town ofAdygeysk was the administrative center.Divisions
