Neon laevisNeon levis is a jumping spider with palearctic distribution[1], occurring in Southern and Western Europe, northern Africa and Xinjiang (China).[2] Females reach a size of up to 3mm, males up to 2.5mm. They are of a light yellowish brown color, the legs have are light-dark annulated. Adult animals can be found in Germany from March to July.[3]
These spiders occur on sunny, dry locations with few vegetation. In Germany the species is considered endangered.[3]
Name
The species name is derived from Latin laevis "smooth, light".
