The Australian Under 20's football (soccer) team, more commonly known as the Young Socceroos, is controlled by Football Federation Australia and represents Australia in international Under 20 or youth football competitions.

Tournament History

2006 AFC Youth Championship Campaign

In their first foray into Asia in 2006 the team failed to advance past the quarterfinals of the AFC Youth Championship, losing to South Korea [http://www.footballaustralia.com.au//default.aspx?s=aus_news_feat_news_news_item&id=10434 Australia bows out to Koreans] , "FFA", November 7, 2006] , despite being labelled as one of the stronger teams. This meant that it would be the first time the Young Socceroos had failed to qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup since 1989.
