Khalsa Raj Party

The Khalsa Raj Party is a political party in Punjab; was formed by Dr. Jagjit Singh Chohan (who returned to Punjab after living in exile in UK for 21 years). Dr. Chohan says returned to achieve the goal of Khalistan (a desired homeland for the Sikhs ). He in fact indicated that he shall work to get Khalistan not through violent methods, but rather through peaceful methods.

Introduction

The Khalsa Raj Party was started by Dr. Jagjit Singh Chohan (who used to live in exile in UK currently he is residing in Punjab). Chohan formed the Khalsa Raj Party in 2002 and he was also the President of the party. The creation of the Khalsa Raj Party

Jagjit Singh Chohan is the self-styled president of the so-called Khalistan. According to Sikh TImes that"Dr. Jagjit Singh Chauhan, an ideologue of the Khalistan movement who returned to India from UK after 21 years to form the Khalsa Raj Party, declared his intention to work towards the 'formation of Khalistan' at a press meet in Chandigarh. Till recently, Chauhan was lying low but now sees some prospect of the Khalistan movement being revived."
