Charles Benson is one of the most seasoned, most experienced reporters in Milwaukee and has been in Wisconsin for over 20 years.

Charles landed his first broadcasting job in Peoria, Illinois, but had begun his career at a much younger age. By the 3rd grade, he knew exactly what he wanted to do for a living. While in little league, Charles was more interested in doing the play-by-play. But it was his unique upbringing that helped him hone his skills as a journalist. "Growing up, my dad was in sales, and we moved around a lot. I was constantly meeting new people, making new connections with people I didn't know."

After two years in Peoria, Charles began his distinguished career in Wisconsin. It was in Green Bay where he fulfilled two life long dreams: meeting Bart Starr, and meeting his future wife.

But it didn't take long for Charles to move up to Milwaukee. It was here, where Charles has spent the majority of his career, building contacts, and proving himself as one of the top reporters in the city. He quickly became known for breaking major stories, in-depth investigations and handling hard news.

But it was political reporting that became his passion. Charles has had the honor of interviewing countless Wisconsin Governors, senators and almost every presidential candidate in the past decade.

"It's not about the stories you break, it's about the people you meet. It's about making a difference. Showing the struggles people go through. Having an impact on our community."

When Charles isn't on the beat, he enjoys just being a dad. He spends as much time as he can with his wife and son Ben
