Helwan University (established in July 26, 1975) is a public university based in Helwan, a southern part of the Cairo Governorate in Egypt. It comprises 18 faculties as well as 50 research centers.

Is known for its engineering trend. It's very famous for its Faculties of Engineering (there are two of them), The Faculty of Commerce And Business Administration that contain unique and special departments like foreign trade, international relations and business information systems, a Faculty of Computers & Information. Also, it has a Faculty of Pharmacy which is knowen to be the first clinical pharmacy in egypt while it has no Faculty of Medicine and many specialized faculties.
