Lisbon ,Portugal is a Portuguese football player as a striker.Porfírio played for
Sporting CP , since the youth levels and had his start for the main team, during the season of 1992/1993. After a season as a substitute, he went on a loan toTirsense 1994/1995 andUnião de Leiria 1995/1996. He returned to Sporting for the season of 1996/1997. During the season, he joined English club West Ham United on a loan from Sporting. He moved toRacing Santander after one season. In 1998/1999 he joinedSL Benfica and went on a loan for Nottingham Forest the same season but only started in three matches. He was back in Benfica for 2001/2002, but was attached to now defunct Benfica B, the two following seasons. He later played for 1 º Dezembro (2004/2005 - 2005/2006) and Oriental (2006/2007). He moved then to his present Saudi Arabian team of Al-Nasr.International career
For the
Portugal national football team he had 3 caps, as a União de Leiria player, since his debut, at the 1-0 win over Ireland, inDublin , the 29th May,1996 to the 1-0 win over Ukraine, inPorto , the 9th November,1996, for the1998 World Cup qualifyings. He was in the roster for the Euro 1996 finals. He also played at the1996 Olympic Games football tournament, were Portugal reached the 4 th place, their best result ever in the competition.
