New Auburn Arena

New Auburn Arena

The New Auburn Arena will be a 9,600 seat multi-purpose arena in Auburn, Alabama. The arena is currently under construction. The new arena will be the home of the Auburn University Tigers basketball teams and will replace Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. It is tentatively scheduled to be built on the west side of campus, near Wire Road between Thach Ave. and Roosevelt Drive. If all goes according to plan, the arena will be complete for the 2010-2011 basketball season.

The new arena is projected to cost $92.5 million. It will contain two practice courts, a weight room, and twelve suites.

The new arena does not yet have a name. There have been discussions of obtaining a corporate sponsorship or of naming it after a prominent Auburn alum.
