William Victor Higgins (
June 28 ,1884 -August 23 ,1949 ) was an American painter and teacher, born at Shelbyville, Ind. He studied at the Art Institute inChicago and at theChicago Academy of Fine Arts . InParis he was a pupil ofRobert Henri ,Ren Menard andLucien Simon , and when he was inMunich he studied withHans von Hyeck . He was an associate of the National Academy. He moved toTaos, New Mexico in 1914 and joined theTaos Society of Artists in 1915.Among his pictures are:
