"What I Always Wanted" is a song by Kittie, released as their first single from their album "Oracle". Kittie also released a music video to accompany this single. In the video the band is featured playing in an all-white background, with scenes of a small story interspersed throughout. In it, a man in a suit walks along a muddy riverbank until he comes upon a number of coins. He stoops down, picking up the coins, and grows more and more frenzied and walks deeper into the water. At some point, he begins to struggle as he is submersed in the water and appears caught. He grabs onto a plant and pulls himself onto land, where he lies, exhausted.
