August 8 ,1946 ) was aUnited States Representative fromSouth Carolina . Tallon served in the House as a Democrat.Born in
Hemingway, South Carolina , Tallon graduated from Dillon High School (Dillon, South Carolina ) in1964 and then attendedUniversity of South Carolina , earning a two-year degree. He received aB.A. fromAmerican University in1994 . Tallon was a clothing shop owner and real estate broker before entering politics. He was a delegate of theWhite House Conference on Small Business in1980 .Tallon was a member of the
South Carolina House of Representatives from 1980 to1982 , and was elected as a Democrat to the98th United States Congress and to the four succeeding Congresses, serving fromJanuary 3 ,1983 toJanuary 3 ,1993 . He was a member of the Agricultural Committee and the Merchant Marine & Fisheries Committee. Tallon was not a candidate for renomination to the103rd United States Congress in1992 , instead taking a job as aprivate advocate . He is currently a resident ofFlorence, South Carolina .References
