- Ivan Fioletov
Ivan Timofeevich Fioletov (1884-1918) was a Russian Communist activist, one of the
Bolshevik Party leaders inAzerbaijan during the Russian Revolution. Fioletov was born into a poorpeasant family inBorisoglebsk , a town in nowadaysVoronezh Oblast ,Russia . In 1890 his family moved toBaku where he worked as ametalworker . He became a member ofRussian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1900 and during theRussian Revolution of 1905 he was one of the trade union activists of oil-industry workers inGroznyy andBaku . Fioletov became one of the26 Baku Commissars of the Soviet Commune that was established in the city after theOctober Revolution . When the Commune was toppled by theCentro Caspian Dictatorship , a British-backed coalition ofDashnaks , SRs andMensheviks , Fioletov and his comrades were captured by British troops and executed by afiring squad between the stations of Pereval and Akhcha-Kuyma of Transcaucasian Railroad.The
Molokan town of Fioletovo, situated in the North ofArmenia , is named after him.References
