Troy Stetina (born
16 November 1963 ) is a guitarinstructor ,clinic ian, andartist with approximately 35 guitar instruction books, CDs, and videos, as well as three solo CDs. Previously Director of RockGuitar Studies at theWisconsin Conservatory of Music and writer for theGuitarOne magazine, Troy now teaches independently.While growing up, Troy developed an interest in late 1970s
hard rock titans such as Rush,Led Zeppelin and KISS, later taking interest in thelead guitar playing techniques ofRandy Rhoads andVan Halen . Shortly after reaching the age of 18, Troy decided to attendastrophysics classes inNew Mexico , and later discovered his unique talent at teaching. In the late 1980s, Troy released two very successful heavy metal instructional books.The same year the first book in his heavy metal
guitar instructional series was released, the youngvirtuoso joined the prestigious Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, inMilwaukee . Although he eventually became Director of the Rock Guitar department, he left in the early 1990s to finally pursue a career as a recording artist. After recording three fullalbum s and producing for other artists, Troy finally decides to spend some time with his wife, Joan, who was formerlylead singer for him, and his two sons, Zack and Jeremy.He is currently involved with Alter Bridge’s
