The Bronx onMay 22 ,1935 ; died 1991) was asalsa music ian andjazz fusion trombonist best known as Barry Rogers.Barron Rogers descended from Polish Jews and was raised in
Spanish Harlem . His mother had taught inAfrica ,Mexico , and elsewhere which inspired an interest in music from other nations. In addition to this salsa, mambo, andLatin jazz was simply popular in the neighborhood. He began inLatin jazz in the mid-1950s and would be most associated with it from then on. He developed his style working withEddie Palmieri .
