"Solar" is a musical composition attributed to Miles Davis on the studio album "Tune Up", considered a modern jazz standard. A controversy exists over authorship of this composition and one current consensus [Voce, Steve. Chuck Wayne Obituary. Accessed 2007 August 6] holds that Davis' "Solar" is essentially an earlier song, "Sonny" (or "Sunny"?), written by Chuck Wayne.
