Kristiansand ,Norway . It was opened onApril 15 ,2007 , replacingKristiansand Stadion as the home ground of the football club Start. The stadium is named after the Norwegian bank "Sparebanken Sør", as part of a sponsorship deal which includes the rights to the stadium name for ten years and a shirt sponsorship lasting from 2007 until 2010.The inaugural match was played between Start and arch rival Viking in the second round of the 2007 Norwegian Premier League season, with the first goal being scored by Viking's
Søren Berg . Ygor Maciel Santiago equalized for the home team shortly after, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.Its capacity in all-seater configuration is 14,300. For domestic matches the capacity will be somewhat higher as seats are taken out to accommodate standing supporters. The stadium project cost 375 million NOK, of which 237 million was for the construction of the actual stadium.
