Igor Nikolaevich Polyansky ( _ru. Игорь Николаевич Полянский) (born
March 20 ,1967 inNovosibirsk ) is a formerbackstroke swimmer from the USSR. He is married and has a son and a daughter living in New Zealand.Polyansky trained at Dynamo in Novosibirsk. In 1986 he became the
Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR . Polyansky won gold medals at the 1986 World Aquatics Championships in 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke and a bronze medal in 4x100m medley. March 3 1985 inErfurt ,GDR , Polyansky set the new world record in 200m backstroke at 1:58.14, that stood six years.
