The Coats

The Coats

The Coats are an a cappella singing group based in Seattle, Washington.

Formed in 1987 at the University of Washington, the group has since released ten albums, and regularly tours throughout the United States.

The Coats were originally known as "The Trenchcoats," but following the Columbine High School massacre, they became unintentionally associated with the "Trenchcoat Mafia" (news reports erroneously provided the singing group's web address as that of the killers), so the name was truncated.
