Shane Valdez is a film director, writer, and photographer from Las Vegas, Nevada. As of summer 2007 roommate to Brendon Urie, lead singer of Panic At The Disco.

In his 2005 debut as the writer-director of the short comedy "19 Miles To Vegas", Shane Valdez unveiled a fresh new style of comedy that was enjoyed by audiences across many festivals. His film, made on a budget of $20, was originally made for the 48 Hour Film Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada where he walked away with the audience choice award and best directing award. From there it was submitted to and accepted by the Rebel Planet Hollywood Film Festival in Hollywood, California where it took the best short/short award. Next it was submitted on a whim to the UCLA Shorttakes Film Festival, where it won the award for best cinematography. "Las Vegas Weekly" described "19 Miles To Vegas" as "Very funny, clever and well made". Wild Child Entertainment claimed the film is at the "Top of the list for absolute originality".

There has even been talk of a "19 Miles" feature-length film. There is very little information known about the project.

Other works by Shane Valdez are two shorts "Period Paragraph" and "Planes Mistaken for Stars." as well as various other smaler projects.

From early 2007 to early 2008 Shane Valdez has spent time filming band Panic at the Disco whilst they wrote and recorded their sophomore album Pretty. Odd.. This footage was then edited over two days to become "Calendar Business" the behind the scenes documentary that came as part of the deluxe edition of the album.This footage is also used for Itunes Downloadable music video "Mad as Rabbits" by Panic at the Disco. Most recently Shane Valdez has been out on tour with Panic at the Disco filming what is widely hoped to become another behind the scenes DVD. Interspaced with filming and touring Shane Valdez has directed a music video for "I'll Run" by Las Vegas band The Cab. And a promotional video for Eric Ronick.

And also hopes of more touring with Panic at the Disco when they embark on their Asian and Australian tours this summer, and US and UK tours in the fall and winter.
