- Arrows A20
The Arrows A20 was the car with which the
Arrows Formula One team used to compete in the1999 Formula One season . It was driven byPedro de la Rosa , a Spanish débutant, andToranosuke Takagi , who moved from the obsolete Tyrrell team. The team was short of funds with the lack of a major sponsor and the chassis was a development of the A19, which had not been too competitive itself. Engine builder
Brian Hart supplied in-house engines, but it became clear that his small resources were not sufficient to compete in modern F1, and he left the team after an ownership dispute withTom Walkinshaw . The Nigerian PrinceMalik was also linked with buying the team, although this came to nothing. The team ended up battling with
Minardi at the back of the grid, although de la Rosa proved promising, scoring the team's only point of the season at his début in Australia. He would be retained for 2000, unlike Takagi, who was ditched in favour ofJos Verstappen .Complete Formula One results
