Ian Meadows

Ian Meadows

Ian Meadows (born February 4 1983) is an Australian actor. Ian was born and raised in Collie, Western Australia.

His highest-profile role to date is as Rocco Cooper on the long-running Australian soap opera "Home and Away". He spent most of his scenes with the show's longest running star, Kate Ritchie whom he liked working with but was glad at the opportunity to work with Callan Mulvey, as Ian is a fan of "Heartbreak High", In which Mulvey played "Drazik".

His role as Rocco not only had him centred under some of the biggest scenes and possibly most popular story-lines to date as the young troubled boy who was forced by his brother to try and take out Sally Fletcher and he stabbed her on the show's 2006 finale but has formed him a legion of fans worldwide. The handsome Aussie has several fan based sites created for him on Bebo.com. The character of Rocco is considered by most Home and Away fans to be the greatest guest character ever to feature on the show, and the vast publicity Meadows has received for the role should futher his career significantly, as well as his amazing good looks.

This attention might have come at a very good time for the company Grace Productions which he, Jim Lounsbury and Josh Wakely established to use film as a medium to create positive social change. With Grace Productions, Ian is currently developing two different film projects, one of which is "My Father's Faith" a creation with friend Josh Wakely, and the other "Draftin" in which he stars with Wakely as two young men drafted to fight in Vietnam in 1968, but who steal a car and escape into the desert, becoming fugitives. Information on Ian's involvement in these productions is available at www.graceproductions.com.au.

Previous roles have included "Elliot" in "Tripping Over", a single-episode role on "All Saints" as "Jeff Weiss", and a major role in the short film "Brothers", directed by Jim Lounsbury.

He used to want to be an AFL player before he realised his true talents lay with writing and acting. He is the middle child, with an elder brother, Ross, and younger sister, Neroli. His father is a doctor.
