woreda s in theAmhara Region ofEthiopia . Part of the Semien Shewa Zone, Weremo Wajetuna Midarema is bordered on the south by theQechene River which separates it fromLay Betna Tach Bet , on the west by theOromia Region , and on the north and east by theDebub Wollo Zone ; the northern boundary is defined by theWalaqa River . The administrative center of this woreda isMeragna ; other towns include Rema.Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 100,866, of whom 51,369 were males and 49,497 were females; 6,585 or 6.53% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 11.8%. With an estimated area of 867.66 square kilometers, Weremo Wajetuna Midarema has an estimated population density of 116.3 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 134.37.
