"Cook" is a Drum and Bass EP by Alec Empire, released under the pseudonym "DJ Mowgly" on Digital Hardcore Recordings as part of an elaborate inside joke on record label.

Alec Empire's joke

According to the Digital Hardcore website, DJ Mowgly gave Alec Empire a tape of his music while Empire was in London, saying he liked the first 3 DHR releases.Empire released "The Cook EP", feauring the jungle song "Cook" (sometimes called "Cook Cook"). After this release however, DJ Mowgly disappeared without explanation.Empire released a video for the track "Cook Cook", "in a hope to find DJ Mowgly", which featured Carl Crack, DJ Moonraker, Thaddi and Something J.It was revealed that Empire was DJ Mowgly, and that Carl Crack was a collaborator.
