Pidhaietskyi Raion ( _uk. Підгаєцький район) is district in western part of
Ternopil Oblast , westernUkraine . It is part of the historic area known asHalychyna (Galicia). The administrative center is the city ofPidhaitsi .Koropets river flows through the district. Pidhaietskyi raion was formed into a separate district onDecember 6 ,1991 by the decree ofUkrainian parliament . Before that it was part of neighbouringBerezhanskyi Raion Population
The population of the district is 22.913 inhabitants. Of this 3.203 are concentrated in
Pidhaitsi , the rest in the villages cited below.Territory
