Ray Sanders

Raymond Floyd Sanders (December 4, 1916 – October 28, 1983) was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri. He was 25 years old when he broke into the Major Leagues on April 14, 1942 for the St. Louis Cardinals. On April 15, 1946 he was purchased by the Boston Braves for $25,000. On March 6, 1948 he was traded with Bama Rowell and $40,000 to the Brooklyn Dodgers for Eddie Stanky. On April 18, 1948 he was purchased by the Boston Braves for $60,000. His final game was September 1, 1949. Sanders died in an automobile accident in Washington, Missouri.
