Ahesta Boro (PerB|آهسته برو, literally "walk slowly", figuratively "walk graciously") is a
musical composition played to welcome the bride and groom’s entrance to thewedding hall in Persian weddings, specially in those of Tajiks. Usually the accompanied couple is walked slowly under the sanction of theGlorious Quran as the attending guests rise in honor of theholy book . Thisanthem is a very strongtradition of thesemarriage ceremonies and is always done without exception. Afghanistan has been difficult but it may have stemmed fromfolkloric chants of central Asian's Persians. This song was popularized by a Tajik singer,Sarban , who originally arranged the lyrics for it. Before this, usually pre-recorded, lonemusic version was played. After Sarban, many singers sang their own versions; however, none paralleled Sarban’s and his is also one that remains the most popular choice to this day although more than 40 years after its release.
