NIGAL pipeline

NIGAL pipeline (also known as Trans-African gas pipeline and Trans-Saharan gas pipeline) is a planned natural gas pipeline from the region of Warri in Nigeria to the Algerian Mediterranean coast. Approximately convert|1300|km|mi|-2 of pipeline will be laid down in Nigeria, convert|750|km|mi|-2 in Niger and convert|2500|km|mi|-2 in Algeria. In Algeria the pipeline will supply the export pipelines to Europe (Medgaz, Galsi).

On 14 January 2002 the Memorandum of Understanding for preparation of this project was signed by NNPC and Sonatrach.cite news
