Motörhead . He is also a writer of fiction novels.Life
Burridge was born in
Poole inDorset , England. In his youth he was a reader and writer with an interest in music, which continued throughout his life. In 1977, Burridge became interested in heavy rock bandMotörhead , and in January 1980, started the "Motorhead Magazine" fanzine. The magazine featured gig reviews and news whilst inviting the readership to become involved by writing their experiences of seeing the band live. "Motorheadbangers", the official Motörhead fan club originally managed by drummer Phil Taylor's sister, Helen, ceased operations in 1983, Burridge, then working as a warehouseman, was asked by the band to roll it into his fan magazine, which continues to this day under the "Motorheadbangers" banner.Burridge wrote two articles covering the band's history and discography for "
Record Collector ", the April 1991 edition covered the band's history and official UK releases, [cite journal|quotes=|last=Burridge|first=Alan|authorlink=|coauthors=|year=1991|month=April|title=Motorhead|journal=Record Collector |volume=|issue=140|pages=16–22|id=|url=|accessdate= ] whilst the July 1993 edition concentrated on Motörhead rarities. [cite journal|quotes=|last=Burridge|first=Alan|authorlink=|coauthors=Mick Stevenson|year=1993|month=July|title=Motorhead|journal=Record Collector |volume=|issue=167|pages=72–76|id=|url=|accessdate= ] As well as providing the discography notes for the band's official website, Burridge wrote the liner notes for the Motörhead compilation albums "Welcome to the Bear Trap" and "From the Vaults" and had a large input with the "Meltdown" 3-CD box set. Burridge also writes gig reviews for local live music venue, Mr. Kyps, and is a Top 500 Reviewer on Amazon.co.uk.Fast Eddie Clarke's Henchmen
In January 2006, Fast Eddie Clarke asked for both Burridge's and fellow Motorheadbanger, Mick Stevenson's assistance with his "Anthology" double CD release. Assisting with the selection of the tracks, with Burridge also writing the album liner notes, the set was released by Sanctuary Records later in the year. With early photos of Clarke included, he insisted Burridge, Stevenson and project co-ordinators, Steve Hammonds and Jon Richards, should also include photos of themselves from the early 1980s in the booklet centrefold.
Fan Club Tribute CD
Keen to break the tradition of the tribute album sounding as much like Motorhead as possible, on April 7th, 2008, Burridge released a Fan Club CD titled 'Sheep In Wolves' Clothing.' Contributor's recorded Motorhead songs from a completely different angle and / or with a female on vocals, hence the album title. Tracks featured:- Mad Dogs - 'Capricorn' / The Deviants - 'Lost Johnny' / Spirits Burning with Bridget Wishart - 'Ace Of Spades' / The Sweet Zeros - '1916' / Sonja Kristina - 'I Don't Believe A Word' / Girlschool - 'Metropolis' / Lissy Abrahams - 'Damage Case' / The Hobbyhorse - 'Orgasmatron' / The Underbelly - 'Back At The Funny Farm' / Alan Davey's Gunslinger - 'Stay Clean."Lost Johnny' featured ex-Motorhead drummer Philthy Animal Taylor, and 'Metropolis' featured ex-Motorhead guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke.
