Southampton Blitz

Southampton Blitz

Southampton was bombed heavily by the Luftwaffe during World War II. It was targeted mainly in the first phase of the Blitz.

Th old part of the city, near the sea, has a mixture of old buildings and much newer buildings built in the gaps left by the bombing.
