James Cower Eckhouse (born February 14, 1955) is an American actor known for playing Jim Walsh on "Beverly Hills, 90210". He also directed three episodes of the show.

Before his part on "Beverly Hills, 90210", Eckhouse did cameos in such films as "Trading Places" and "Cocktail" starring Tom Cruise. He was on "Beverly Hills, 90210" from the pilot episode in 1990 to 1995, when Jim and his wife, Cindy, moved to Hong Kong. James studied briefly at MIT before beginning his acting career. He has a wife and two sons and is currently living and working in Los Angeles. His oldest son is studying film at NYU. Eckhouse is Jewish.
