MedFriendly

[http://www.medfriendly.com MedFriendly] is a website providing online medical information services to people from all different walks of life. The company was founded by a neuropsychologist, Dr. Dominic A. Carone of Syracuse, New York. MedFriendly reaches readers through its owned and operated website (http://www.medfriendly.com).

MedFriendly differentiates itself from other popular medical website by defining complicated terms used in medical texts. This allowed readers to understand the definition of the original medical question without reading innumerable additional entries. The website is used as a reference by the U.S. government's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/hemochromatosis/training/glossary.htm] , and is listed as a recommended website in an objective text [http://www.newtexts.com/newtexts/book.cfm?book_id=2774] Unlike other popular medical websites that have hundreds of physicians and executives, all of the content of MedFriendly has been written by the website’s founder. This unique aspect of MedFriendly is also a weakness in that it does not permit the addition of extensive information on a daily basis.

In addition to defining medical terms in an easy to understand manner, MedFriendly also has a U.S. hospital index, physician directory, message board, blog, and measurements section. It also includes a fee for service option in which readers can submit medical information requests. Each year has seen continued growth of MedFriendly.
