Steven Selwood

Steven Selwood

Steven Selwood (born November 24, 1979) was an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire between 2001 and 2004. He was a left-handed batsman and a left-arm slow bowler.

With a reasonably short first-class career, it is therefore unfortunate that his highest score at County level was of 99 not out, though his skill in the limited overs game proved his adaptability to be his forte, as he was able to switch between this and the five-day game with relative ease. However, come the last year of his first-class career, a more defensive side to his play was to show through, depriving the first-class game of a skill his Second XI cricket is by no means without.

Prior to signing for Derbyshire, Selwood had played for Middlesex. Selwood's father, Tim, also played for Middlesex between 1966 and 1973.
