- Baa Bar
Baa Bar is a chain of bars located in the North-West of
England .Founded in 1991 by
Tom Bloxham (founder ofUrban Splash ) andJonathon Falkingham (co-founder ofUrban Splash ), Baa Bar Limited opened its first site in April 1991 inLiverpool . Originally housing Jones & Co. Ltd, a company specializing in ropes, the building was regenerated to house Baa Bar.After initial success, the company opened its second site, "Modo", which is almost as bad, situated in the Concert Square area of the city. Since then the company has opened a further five sites within the region, comprising a further two Baa Bars in
Manchester , another inWigan , "Bumper" (located inLiverpool ), and "The Ox", a hotel located inManchester .Baa Bar is renowned for its random acts of violence, dodgy punters,"shooters", a variety of differing 25ml
cocktail s using variousliqueur s, spirits andsyrup s. These are often layered to produce a finished product. They are given varying names often referring topopular culture , taste or appearance, or just made up by whoever writes the menu that week. Popular "shooters" include "Dave", "Traffic Light" and "Sassy Bitch". All of these drinks however, were invented by other people. The shooters offered within Baabar contain virtually no alcohol whatsoever.Fact|date=February 2007Baabar offers a bar experience with attitude! A bad one. Punctuated by appauling music, awful toilets and a door policy similar to that of Strangeways prison. It used to have style, but unfortunately the owners abandoned this in favour of cheap, short term takings.
