New York Giants , but he wasn't a regular in their line-up until by|1920, when he had a league-leading 94 RBIs. In between, he was briefly lost (and subsequently reclaimed) on waivers to thePittsburgh Pirates in by|1917. In by|1921, Kelly began a string of successful years individually and with his team. Kelly drove in 100 or more runs for four consecutive seasons (which he did again in by|1929) and batted .300 or higher six consecutive seasons. The Giants appeared in theWorld Series in 1921, by|1922, by|1923 and by|1924, and won in 1921 and 1922.Kelly was traded to the
Cincinnati Reds prior to the by|1927 season forEdd Roush . His production declined somewhat in Cincinnati, to the point where he spent part of by|1930 and all of by|1931 with the minor-leagueMinneapolis Millers . Kelly retired after the by|1932 season as a member of theBrooklyn Dodgers . He retired with 148home run s, 1020 RBIs and a .297 batting average.Kelly shares the
