- Wakonda (Ken Kesey)
Wakonda is the name of the fictional
logging community in theU.S. state ofOregon that is the setting ofKen Kesey 's novel "Sometimes a Great Notion". In the film version of the book, various locations inLincoln County, Oregon , including Kernville and other locations along theSiletz River ,Yaquina Bay ,Yaquina River , and the city of Newport were used to film scenes set in Wakonda and the surrounding area.
